REFLECTION

Conscious Act of Kindness

Is a conscious act of kindness, an act of kindness still? If I did a kind thing with the motive to be kind, is it kindness? If I’m after the feeling of satisfaction after being thanked by someone, is it an act of kindness or selfishness? If I then think about the karmic returns from the act, is it kindness or selfishness? If I deviate from a path of total goodness to one where I wonder what I gain from being kind, is it truly kind? Is it kind if I go out of my way to be nice to someone so that they accept me into their life and think of me when they need to feel supported?

Or am I just a people pleaser?
